Are you looking for a fresh challenge in 2024? Wakefield Council is hiring an External Communications Manager to join our newly established External Communications team. This is your chance to help shape the future of our communications strategy and play a key role in promoting the work that makes Wakefield a great place to live, work, and visit.
In this exciting role, you’ll:
lead and deliver creative, high-impact communications campaigns
shape and manage Wakefield’s external reputation
work alongside a dynamic, forward-thinking team to promote key services and initiatives
advise senior leaders and political figures with expert communications support.
What we’re looking for:
a strong background in PR, media, and marketing, ideally in a large organisation
a passion for creative communications and storytelling
the ability to work independently and adapt to fast-changing priorities
experience in advising senior leaders and working across teams to achieve goals.
