A new strategic workshop for public sector communicators

Whether you need to recruit young people, encourage more of them to vote, inspire behavioural change or simply to ensure a message lands, this workshop is for you.

This all-new strategic workshop for public sector communicators has been developed by Rebecca Roberts and Darren Caveney - two senior communicators, now communications consultants, experienced in developing and delivering award-winning work and campaigns.

Why this workshop?

In a city like Birmingham, 40% of its residents are now under 25. Wow. So it’s timely to ask ourselves the question: Are we engaging effectively with our young people?

Where do you start, what are the opportunities, which channels do we need to use and how do others achieve success?

Get the latest insights from youth research to underpin and shape your approach to engage young people in 2019 and ensure your communications strategy hits the mark.

Workshop outline

The new year brings with it the chance to shape and develop new strategies and approaches to engage better with young people.

Whether your approach needs a light refresh, a major rewrite, or you’re starting with a blank piece of paper, this workshop will give you the chance to:

  • get to grips with the latest data, analysis and fresh youth research available in the U.K.

  • understand the issues and influences youth audiences are facing

  • key trends to consider for 2019

  • identify which channels to use – understanding the media landscape for young people

  • killer content and engaging tone of voice

  • explore best practice examples of how others successfully engage with young people, both within the public sector and corporate world

  • understand the key steps to developing a plan to deliver against your priorities

  • take part in interactive exercises for you to begin mapping your new approach

Timings

The first of these workshops is to take place on 20th March 2019 and will run 10am - 4pm, with registration from 9.30am.

 Venue

To get your creative juices flowing we’ve booked The Studio in Birmingham. If you’ve not been before you’ll love it. The food is great and tea, good coffee and snacks are on tap all day long.

The venue is just a 3-4 minute walk from New Street Station and with easy access to several nearby car parks.
